Cancer & Personalized Tumor Models

What we study

We integrate patient-derived cancer organoids, organ-on-a-chip, biomaterials, and 3D bioprinting to reconstruct personalized tumor microenvironments. Our research focuses on understanding how the surrounding microenvironment regulates cancer progression and therapeutic response, including:

  • Patient-specific tumor–microenvironment interactions

  • Extracellular matrix-dependent cancer adaptation

  • Tumor hypoxia and mechanical microenvironments

  • Cancer–immune interactions and immunotherapy responses

  • Metastatic colonization in tissue-specific microenvironments

  • Personalized prediction of anticancer drug responses

Our ultimate goal is to move beyond conventional patient-derived organoids toward personalized tumor ecosystems that reproduce both the intrinsic characteristics of a patient's cancer and the environmental conditions that determine its behavior.
